Claudia Powell

President, Principal Designer

Claudia Powell brings over 20 years of professional experience in the fields of interior design and interior architecture to her wide variety of clients. Ms. Powell received her classical architectural training at The Institute for Classical Architecture in New York, also serving on the faculty for the Institute, received her interior design training at F.I.T. in New York City, and has worked as a senior design consultant for a number of major interior design firms in New York, including Bunny Williams, Mark Hampton, and David Kleinberg, and also in Washington, D.C., with Thomas Pheasant, Neumann Lewis Buchanan, and Franck & Lohsen Architects. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Institute for Classical Architecture and Classical America.

Ms. Powell has been involved with the design of many medium- and large-scale projects around the United States, encompassing high-end residential, institutional, and commercial spaces. She covers all aspects of interior design, from creation of initial concepts and schematics to supervision of final installation. She has a deep knowledge of historical interiors, antiques, color theory, proportion, and fabric. Ms. Powell has also provided design consultation and working drawings for residential projects comprising custom furniture, window treatments, and floor and wall coverings.

Ms. Powell maintained a private consulting practice in New York City for five years prior to relocating to the Washington D.C. area in 2003. Before engaging in interior design, she enjoyed a 10-year career as a professional opera singer in the United States and Europe.

Kyle Michas

Associate Designer

Kyle Michas, an Associate Designer in the firm, plays a major role in the entire design fulfillment process, including client interaction and project management, design concept and schematic rendering, product research and procurement, and coordination of project delivery and completion.

Mr. Michas brings a fresh, masculine, and modern perspective to the firm’s design signature, as well as a meticulous organizational ethic to project management. His naturally charming and professional manner contributes greatly to the clients’ experience with the firm, and his exemplary contact skills assure an enjoyable working experience for all involved.

A native of southern Florida, Mr. Michas is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire and received his BA from Wake Forest University in North Carolina. While serving as Associate Designer of the firm, he is pursuing his MA in Interior Design at the Corcoran College of Art & Design in Washington, D.C.
